MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – The export by the Hi-Tech Park will rise by at least 40% in 2018. First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Turchin said: “The Hi-Tech Park is expected to increase earnings and respectively the export of services by $400-450 million in comparison with the previous year. It will be an increase of 40% and more.”
According to the source, companies residing in the Hi-Tech Park employ over 30,000 people, with their average salary exceeding Br4,000. This sector makes a significant contribution to the GDP growth – about 0.5% in the 3.7% increase. “These are indeed very tangible figures. It means that the head of state made an absolutely just and right decision when he signed the Digital Economy Development Ordinance,” said Alexander Turchin. He added that the digitization of the entire country should be the next step.
