MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) - The multimedia portal VIDEOBEL.BY is a tool that will be out of our opponents’ hands, Belarusian Information Minister Marat Markov told the media, BelTA has learned.
“We are constantly under pressure when our resources are shut down as soon as we speak an inconvenient truth. This is a practice our allies, the Russians, have faced. The same happens to our channels, platforms, resources we work with. That is why we have launched a Belarusian today. This is probably the main difference from everything we have had before. We have developed a Belarusian platform that will accumulate our main political video contents,” Marat Markov said.
According to the information minister, users will be able to view content both in real time and in the archive. “It will be easy to find information using tags. At least, that is the way the platform has been designed. Let us take a look how it functions, but I am sure it will be that way. In fact, we are developing an information hub through which we and, most importantly, those who are interested in reliable information from Belarus will be able to get it. There is a huge number of such people who realize that everything that takes place in Belarus is absolutely different from the way it is shown abroad,” he stressed.
Marat Markov said that one of the tasks is to show the Belarusian reality, using the tool that will not be in the hands of its opponents. “This is the main idea. The convenience of the portal, its interface will be assessed by its users. I hope that they will not see this portal as a competitor of the main state TV channels. It is not a competitor, it is another way to bring reliable information to our viewers,” the information minister said.
Belarus has launched its first multimedia portal VIDEOBEL.BY on 12 September. The new platform will offer access to all the social and political contents of the Belarusian leading mass media. The new resource will offer streaming channels and important live broadcasts, in particular, from the events attended by the head of state.
It will provide a selection of top five news headlines for those who want to keep up-to-date but spend the minimum time studying the media space. This is a one-stop media portal for users to get the best and most relevant content.
