MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany may introduce a new format of cooperation which envisages the establishment of regional ties, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at Minsk Forum 2017 on 17 November, BelTA has learned.
“Perhaps, it is time we thought about a new format - partnership between Belarus and separate federal states of Germany. Keeping in mind the scale of the German economy, tapping into new resources of regional cooperation can be exceptionally promising,” the minister said.
In his words, twinning relations are important for the intensification of contacts and cooperation at the local level. Today, about 20 pairs of cities in Belarus and Germany maintain twinning relations.
