MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) – There are no major issues in relations between Belarus and Latvia, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics who is on a visit to Belarus on 24-26 July, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian foreign minister emphasized that Belarus-Latvia contacts are becoming regular. This pertains to the exchange of visits, too. Besides, representatives of the two countries meet on international platforms. Vladimir Makei welcomed close contacts that were established not only between the foreign ministries of the two countries, but also between other agencies. In his words, this is very instrumental in promoting cooperation in all areas.
The minister noted that Belarus wholly supports a political dialogue and seeks to expand bilateral contacts.
He noted that there are no big issues in the bilateral relations and there is willingness to openly discuss sensitive matters.
