MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – A new level of mutual understanding with partners is needed in a globalized world, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the international conference Economic Security in a Globalized World of the Minsk Dialogue expert initiative on 2 June, BelTA has learned.
“The today’s conference is focused on the topic of economic security in terms of world globalization. This is an extremely urgent and important topic. The consideration of certain problems in its global context becomes an absolutely essential and natural condition of any dialogue on topical issues on the international agenda,” the minister said.
In his words, the modern world has changed in an irreversible way and has become extremely interdependent. “We can see the changes connected with time and space with our own eyes,” Vladimir Makei said.
The minister emphasized the importance of a clear understanding of the country’s place in the modern global world. “When we speak about the balance of our interests, foreign policy priorities, the willingness to do our best to expand our opportunities and cooperation, we emanate from the absolutely obvious need to establish a new level of mutual understanding with our partners,” Vladimir Makei said.
