MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – Belarus strongly condemns terrorism and violence in any manifestation, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said to his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov over the phone, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Belarusian Foreign Minister expressed his deepest and heartfelt condolences to his Russian counterpart and the family of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov, as well as to all members of the Russian diplomatic service.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in its statement made in connection with the assassination of the Russian diplomat in Ankara that there can be no justification for terrorist attacks on diplomats who dedicate their lives to finding solutions to international conflicts, do their best to strengthen peace and friendly relations between the countries and nations. “We express our sincere condolences to the family of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov who died in the line of duty. The Russian diplomat did a lot for the establishment of peace in the Middle East. We wish prompt recovery to all those who have been injured in the attack,” the statement reads.
