MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) - Belarus aims to step up cooperation with Turkey in all areas of mutual interest, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministers outlined the ways of implementing the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian President to Istanbul in April 2016. In addition, they discussed the preparation of the session of the Belarusian-Turkish joint intergovernmental economic commission to be held in Minsk in May.
Vladimir Makei and Mevlut Cavusoglu also spoke in favor of closer cooperation between the two countries in international organizations.
Vladimir Makei is in Beijing on a working visit to attend the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is a large regional forum on cooperation, security, economic growth and stability in Asia.
The meeting brings together 26 countries from Central and South-East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. Observer status at the Conference has been granted to Belarus, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, the United States of America, Ukraine, Philippines, and Japan.
