MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) - Belarus has its own school of diplomacy, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told reporters on 22 January, BelTA has learned.
“Belarus has its own school of diplomacy. Belarusian State University runs a major in international relations to train future Belarusian diplomats, and this speaks volumes. This is actually our diplomatic academy,” Vladimir Makei said. He noted that diplomatic science does not stand still. It adapts to modern conditions and improves.
Vladimir Makei stressed that the main task of a diplomat is to fulfill strategic tasks set out by the country's leadership and to take adequate decisions. Sometimes this is difficult decision-making with compromise. “National interests are always at the forefront,” the minister said.
On 22 January Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei took part in the events to mark the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian diplomatic service: the launch of the documentary photo exhibition and the first-day-of-issue dedication ceremony for the stamp.
