MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany are interested in the bilateral relations to be at the highest level, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said to the STV TV Channel commenting on the results of his meeting with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Munich, BelTA informs.
“We have good prospects for cooperation with Germany. It seems to us that Germany understands what role Belarus plays in the current situation. Germany tries to build the corresponding policy in relation to Belarus. We welcome it,” Vladimir Makei noted.
In his words, Belarus sees what role Germany plays in Europe, region and the world. “We are interested in the relations between our countries to be at the highest level. The assessment of Belarus is also better than it was last year. It is, I think, because Belarus’ motivation of adopting these or those foreign and internal political decisions is better understood today,” Vladimir Makei said.
Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei attended the 52nd Munich Security Conference during his working visit to Germany on 12-14 February.
