MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) – What Russia proposes to negotiate is already a reality today, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media at the polling station in Minsk on 27 February, BelTA has learned.
“They should agree to this and rebuild Ukraine,” the president said.
The same is true about demilitarization. “Ukraine needs to remain nuclear-free, like Belarus. Do not issue demands and do not scare the world that you will start producing nuclear weapons,” the Belarusian leader said.
As for Donbass, the Belarusian leader said that it is no longer Ukrainian.
“What Russia proposes to negotiate is already a reality. The war needs to be stopped. They will have to agree to this and rebuild Ukraine,” the head of state said.
“Do you think the West will help Ukraine with reconstruction? Did they help Afghanistan? Did they help Iraq? They have oil, everything that Americans need, but the United States is not rebuilding those states. They will not rebuild Ukraine. As soon as Ukraine is off the agenda, they will forget about it. It has always been like this. Once Belarus, Azerbaijan and Armenia were on this agenda. Who remembers this? No one. The Ukrainian people are the ones who will suffer,” stressed Aleksandr Lukashenko.
