MIKASHEVICHI, 5 October (BelTA) – Belarusians need peace and nothing else. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a solemn ceremony held as part of the Dazhynki 2024 harvest festival in Mikashevichi to honor agrarians, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “You feel and understand as well as I do and many feel and understand better than I do that it is better to work in the native peaceful land. We need peace. We need nothing else. We will do the rest with our own hands as we’ve always done. But we need to endure. We don’t want our Belarus to once again become a battlefield for powers that be. We will be intent on achieving this goal. You want it. I want it even more.”
“Live in friendship and peace. Don’t offend Ukrainians or Russians that come to us with good intentions. Take care of this peace. Of interreligious and interethnic peace. It came at a heavy price. There will be plenty of land for everyone. Those, who come to us, don’t ask for a piece of bread. And if they ask, they do so only at the beginning. Then they work and earn their living. We need workers on this land,” he added.
