MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – The generation of winners bequeathed Belarusians to live and build a future for new generations and it must be done. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during an army parade held on 3 July to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from Nazi invaders, BelTA has learned.
The head of state said: “Young people stand in ranks next to defenders of the Fatherland. Machines and equipment for a peaceful life stand next to military hardware. The winners bequeathed us to live and build a future for new generations. We will not fail them. We have no right to.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko also addressed veterans. He remarked that they had taught Belarusians how to love, defend, and take care of their land. “And today we build our future by relying on your mighty shoulders. We understand what trials you have gone through and endured. It gives us strength and courage to counter new challenges. There is no other way because the time has chosen us. And we will prevail!” the president stressed.
“Our generation has been entrusted with the mission to preserve peace in the native land. The peace that grandfathers and great grandfathers gifted to us 80 years ago. We will be worthy of their immortal deed. On this sacred day for every one of us I wish everyone happiness, peace, and prosperity. Glory to the Belarusian nation that has defended its right to be sovereign and independent! Eternal glory to the Soviet warriors, who fell fighting the enemy and who gave their lives in exchange for our freedom! Honor and glory to valiant defenders of the Fatherland!” the Belarusian leader said.
