Lukashenko sends Unity Day greetings to Vladimir Putin

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Russia President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Being proud of the achievements and cherishing the traditions of older generations, Belarus and Russia successfully implement a joint integration project, deepen all-round strategic partnership. Modern realities stipulate an objective need to step up the coordination of efforts to ensure high living standards in our countries,” the message of greetings reads.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed confidence that the concerted efforts will give a new impetus to the development of all-round cooperation of Belarus and Russia.

The Belarusian head of state also sent Unity Day greetings to Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State and Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Sergei Naryshkin, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Russia Gennady Zyuganov.
