BREST, 11 August (BelTA) – People should be treated fairly as the city is building the Western Bypass, President Alexander Lukashenko said as he was informed about the social and economic development of Brest on 11 August, BelTA has learned.
The head of state was informed that some residents will have to be relocated to make way for the construction of the Western Bypass. This aspect will be mitigated, however. The citizens are offered comfortable apartments near their current place of residence. It is estimated that some 40 families will move to new apartments.
Alexander Lukashenko was informed that the construction of the Western Bypass in Brest is prompt and on schedule, which envisages that the project will be commissioned in 2019 when the city turns 1,000 years.
It was also noted that in 2017 the project will require additional Br10 million because all the funds earmarked for the project will be used in September 2017. Alexander Lukashenko gave instructions to work out the financial matters and adopt the necessary decisions.
