MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to start a constructive dialogue with neighbors in the west. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during a solemn assembly held in the Palace of the Republic on 2 July in anticipation of Independence Day, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “We are still ready to start a constructive dialogue with our neighbors in the west. Our terms are simple: respect Belarus’ sovereignty, national traditions, our historical memory, and the choice of the Belarusian nation.”
The president stressed that the policy of sanctions-fueled pressure makes Belarus only stronger. There are a large number of countries that are ready not only to work with Belarus but also promote partnerships, friendly relations, allied relations, and mutually beneficial relations based on trust in Belarus as a partner, based on respect for Belarus’ persistent stance, on recognition of the quality of everything made in Belarus.
The head of state stressed that Belarus had managed to build an economy with a significant durability margin, this is why it is impossible to manipulate the country. “Well, if we don’t have some capabilities for now, the West is not the only vendor. We have friends in other parts of the world, too,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. It is in the east that a creative agenda is evolving right now: an economic agenda, an international agenda in addition to a world outlook. The sun rises in the east in the literal sense and in the figurative sense, the Belarusian leader noted.
