Lukashenko promises improved conditions for training skiers in near future

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Within a year or two Belarus will make a big step forward in creating conditions for training its skiers, President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with participants of the 2018 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games on 29 March, BelTA informs.

“The pre-season is ahead. We need to get ready. I have already said that we will make a considerable step forward within a year or two to raise the training level of skiers in the country,” the head of state said.

“We will build the so-called pipe in Belarus. I would like it to be done this year. We will find resources to build the facility, so that our professional and amateur skiers could ski the year round,” the president said.

In his words, a venue has already been chosen in Minsk to build another facility for skiers with a 1.2km track. There are also investors ready to help implement the project. “Everything will be done to you to train and perform at a good level,” the Belarusian leader said.
