MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – Belarus will take unprecedented measures to support families, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with community leaders, experts, Belarusian and foreign media on 1 March, BelTA has learned.
“We will take decisions soon. They should be unprecedented. The most important thing is housing. If a family giving birth to a third child gets an apartment from the state virtually for free, it will be a great incentive for them to have more children,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
In the run-up to the International Women’s Day the president wished Belarusian women to have more children. “This is very important for the country, too. Two children are yours, and the third is for me. This is rock-solid,” the president added.
Alexander Lukashenko believes that families with many children are the only way-out for the nation, in particular, in the face of the declining child birth all over Europe. This trend can now be observed even in Russia.
The president said with regret that it is not that easy for Belarusian women to find true men in Belarus.
