MINSK, 24 March (BelTA) – Orel Oblast is one of Belarus’ most promising and reliable trade and economic partners, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Governor of Russia’s Orel Oblast Vadim Potomsky on 24 March, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko noted with regret that that the trade turnover has fallen in money terms just like everywhere else in recent years. According to the President, the visit of the governor proves that “the sides are determined to make up leeway.”
The head of state stressed that the economic conditions in Belarus and Orel Oblast are similar. “Both Belarus and Orel Oblast earn money thanks to smart and hardworking people,” the Belarusian leader said.
The President believes that Belarus and Orel Oblast have very good cooperation prospects in such fields as agriculture, manufacturing, including mining, machine-building, and construction.
Speaking about agribusiness, the head of state mentioned the mutual eagerness of the sides to cooperate in this field. Belarus is ready to supply the whole range of agricultural equipment. Belarusian agrarians, in turn, are interested in the pig breeding practices of Orel Oblast.
The Belarusian side is ready to implement infrastructure projects.
“In short, we are ready to share our experience with you. You have many good ideas, and we can use them,” the President underlined.
