Lukashenko: Nothing impedes the advancement of Belarus-Moldova cooperation

CHISINAU, 18 April (BelTA) – Nothing stands in the way of the vigorous advancement of Belarus-Moldova cooperation. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Moldova President Igor Dodon in Chisinau on 18 April, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian head of state noted that Belarus makes products, which Moldova needs. In turn, Moldovan products are in demand in Belarus.

“Nothing stands in the way of our cooperation,” stated Alexander Lukashenko.

The president stated that as he visits former republics of the Soviet Union he feels the strongest nostalgia in Moldova. “As I drive along the central street of Chisinau, I feel a strong desire to take a walk along it just the way it was done in Soviet times. Sincerely speaking — I am not saying it for PR purposes just because I am now in Moldova — I’ve never seen a better land. People and lands are good here, the climate is very good,” said the Belarusian head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko stressed: “I’ve come here as a person, who loves this land, a person, who was here many times. I cannot but keep thinking that friendly people live here, simply put, our kind of people.”

In turn, Igor Dodon noted that Moldova views Belarus as its most reliable partner. “This is why your visit to Moldova is very important. I am grateful for you accepting our invitation,” said the Moldovan head of state.
