MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – There is no quality without science and education, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting with members of the National Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions in Minsk on 13 February, BelTA has learned.
"It is important to give the priority attention to science and plan the work in terms of universities, the Academy of Sciences, scientific institutions," the head of state said.
The president stressed that earlier he worked on the ground, at specific enterprises. Since many practical issues have been resolved, it is important to move the work to a higher level. "Science is what we need. This is the main link that we can grab hold of and pull up the whole chain. Education is important too. There can be no quality without science and education," the Belarusian leader is convinced.
According to him, for these purposes, it is necessary to reorient financing and cash flows, where necessary. "But only for a specific result. The responsibility for the result will be the toughest," the head of state added.
