MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – There will be no early elections in Belarus, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko noted as he met with representatives of the business community on 22 December, BelTA informs.
A decision was taken to transfer some extra money into the president’s reserve fund when the 2018 budgetary plan was being drafted. “During the 2018 budget adoption process, some 'businessman' politicians made a big deal out of it. I reduced the expenses envisaged in the budgetary plan by 10% by putting this money into the president’s reserve fund. It does not belong to me. It will be used in accordance with proposals of the government and the parliament,” Alexander Lukashenko stressed.
“Some people are waiting for early elections because the president has formed a big reserve fund. No early elections will be held. There are no reasons or trends to do this,” the Belarusian leader underlined.
