MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarus will continue the independent course of development, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with representatives of the Ukrainian mass media in Minsk on 26 September, BelTA has learned.
The president drew attention to the peace-loving and independent nature of the Belarusian people. This is especially true about the young generation of Belarusians who were born during the time of sovereign Belarus and who do not know what the Soviet Union was.
“What should be taken into account is that these people were born in an independent, sovereign Belarus. They do not want to conflict with anyone. They treat Ukrainians and Russians the same,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
“You will not make either Lukashenko or the Belarusian people toe the line. A new generation has emerged. These people will not surrender Belarus to anyone,” the Belarusian leader said.
