MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) - Justice must be at the core of every action of the local authorities, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he coordinated the appointment of the local authorities on 19 August, BelTA has learned.
The head of state urged the local authorities to keep in touch with people and fulfill their promises. “We have good people: if you ask them, they will always meet you halfway. Just do not cheat. If you asked something and promised something, do it for sure. If you cannot do it today, tell them that you will do this tomorrow. If there is any injustice, be sure to respond. Either settle it for yourself, or if you cannot do this at the regional level, call immediately to the head of the administration. We will deal with it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
In his opinion, the worst thing in the work of government bodies is an unfair treatment towards people. “People can forgive everything, but they will never forgive injustice. The authorities should base every their action on a fair attitude to people and a fair solution of issues,” the president said.
"You have come at a time when you have to take an exam, perhaps not even for yourself, but for others. In some three months, people will forget that you are newcomers and that all the shortcomings, which exist, are not because of you. In a three-month time you will be the ones accountable for everything,” the head of state said.
On 19 August, Aleksandr Lukashenko approved the appointment of the chairpersons of several district executive committees in Mogilev Oblast. Vasily Zakharenko will head the Belynichi District Executive Committee. At present he leads the Klimovichi District Council of Deputies. First Deputy Director General of the Managing Company of Agromashservice Holding Nikolai Stepanov has been appointed Chairman of the Dribin District Executive Committee. Aleksandr Yefimchikov, Executive Director of the Mogilevskiye Semena Trav Company (Mogilev Grass Seeds), will head the Chausy District Executive Committee.
The president emphasized fair treatment towards people during his previous meeting with the newly-appointed heads of district executive committees in late July as he was making new appointments. “People understand us and support the current government. Of course there is criticism and this is good and right. You need to talk with people. There should be no pressure. Please, treat people decently,” the head of state said.
