MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) - In Belarus, the defense of the Motherland has always been in the hands of courageous, strong-willed and brave people, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to honor graduates of higher military educational institutions in Minsk on 5 July, BelTA has learned.
"Wrapping up the events dedicated to the main state holiday - Independence Day, we traditionally honor graduates of higher educational institutions, including the military. This ceremony is a tribute to the memory of the generation of winners. A tribute to the memory of the heroes who liberated Minsk on 3 July clearing the native land from the Nazi invaders," the head of state said.
"In our country, the defense of the Motherland has been in the hands of courageous, strong-willed and brave people and will always be. People like you are true men who wear an officer's uniform in such a difficult and sometimes unpredictable time," the Belarusian leader stressed.
