SVETLOGORSK DISTRICT, 21 June (BelTA) – The main areas of focus in the next five-year plan will be quality, import substitution, and export. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko identified these priorities while travelling by an electric train from Svetlogorsk where he had opened a new electrified section to traffic on 21 June, BelTA has learned.
The head of state was told that the share of Belarusian components had been greatly increased in the course of railway electrification. The share has reached virtually 50%. Only the components, which are unavailable in Belarus, are imported.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “It is necessary to put efforts into import substitution. The entire five-year plan will be all about quality, import substitution, and export. These are going to be the main areas of work. Belarus is a mechanical engineering country. We shouldn’t have to import everything from China or Russia.”
