MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko commented on the recent decision of the European Union to abolish the majority of sanctions in relation to the Belarusian side at the session held on 16 February to discuss measures meant to improve the effectiveness of the social and economic complex, BelTA has learned.
”The Minister of Foreign Affairs need to thank his colleagues for making this decision. It is a very good move, the European Union realized that it is time to abandon this bloc thinking and stop the confrontation with Belarus. They have made the decision that absolutely satisfies us,” the head of state said.
In this context, Alexander Lukashenko instructed the government to step up work with various banking organizations of the EU and potential investors. “We are open for it,” the President of Belarus emphasized.
