Lukashenko dismisses reproaches of helping Russia

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – During an interview with the Rossiya TV channel Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the reproaches directed towards Belarus about helping Russia, BelTA has learned.

"Both the West and Ukraine are reproaching us for helping Russia." I say to Ukrainians: ‘Almost 60 countries are helping you, the most developed countries. Russia is our ally. We are legally and mentally close nations. We are allies," the head of state stressed. "I tell Ukrainians this openly and declare it."

"Why shouldn't we help them? Therefore, I am not hiding it. What should I hide? Yes, much of our cooperation is not made public. The war is going on, so we are not disclosing some things," the president explained.
