Lukashenko describes each region's input into Belarus' agriculture

KLIMOVICHI, 16 November (BelTA) – All regions of Belarus work for a common result and share responsibility for the country, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a solemn ceremony to honor agricultural workers at the Dazhynki harvest festival in the town of Klimovichi, Mogilev Oblast, on 16 November, BelTA has learned.

The president noted that each region contributes something unique to the Motherland, like bringing something to the family table. “After all, we have six regions and the hero city of Minsk. Everyone works for a common goal. Everyone is different, but they are one family. And they share responsibility for it,” the head of state emphasized.

Aleksandr Lukashenko named unique features of each region. For example, Brest Oblast loves technology. Therefore, the region has the country's highest milk yields. Vitebsk Oblast is a paragon of peasant ingenuity. It is true, they have poor soils, but they make up for it by growing grasses and forage for the livestock sector. Their specialization in livestock farming makes a good contribution to the country's agricultural sector.

Gomel Oblast has the ability to handle any difficulties. Grodno Oblast is known for its penchant for experiments and  innovations that help get higher yields every year.

Minsk Oblast is synonymous to good management and strong discipline, the head of state continued. By now, they have already threshed almost 3 million tonnes of grain, leguminous and oilseed crops. Minsk itself is the capital city, a scientific, industrial and processing center.

“Mogilev Oblast is the last stop of the harvest festival's relay. This region has its own strengths. There are almost 700 rivers and lakes here, including the amazingly beautiful Berezina, Sozh, Dnieper. Miraculous springs, where pilgrims come. Taking a sip from them feels like being born again. Huge swathes of forests. As far as the manufacturing industry is concerned, you are the biggest producer of tires, elevators, cement, chemical fibers, newsprint in the country,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The famous Bobruisk zefir is perhaps the most desired souvenir from Belarus. These days, by the way, the Marathon of Unity is taking place in Bobruisk. And in a week, this large-scale event will move to Mogilev.
