Lukashenko denies involvement of Belarusian army in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian army has not participated in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine and has no intention of participating in it. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during the solemn ceremony held on 4 March to sign the decision of the national constitutional referendum, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “However hard individual forces (you know them) may try to get us involved in combat operations in Ukraine, you have no reasons to worry. Let me stress it once again: we use our forces to cover the state border from Brest to Mozyr. The Belarusian army has not participated in the special operation and does not intend to participate in it. There is no need for it. In addition to the border from Brest to Gomel we also have the western border and the northwestern one. And we have to cover it reliably. Because the nation will not forgive us if we fail there.”

“I am talking about it convincingly and preferably for the last time. It is even a bit hurtful for me to repeat day after day that we are good guys and will remain good guys, that we will not go anywhere, that we will protect our land. You know, if you don’t hear me, then it is time for you to elect a new president,” he remarked.
