Lukashenko: Belarusians are peaceful people, have no claims on foreign lands

VETKA, 28 April (BelTA) - Belarusians are peaceful people. They don't lay claims on someone else's lands, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a conference with Gomel Oblast officials, BelTA has learned.

"I want to emphasize that we are peaceful people and we do not need someone else's lands," Alexander Lukashenko said.

The president recalled that it was from Gomel Oblast, from the town of Komarin, that the liberation of Belarus from the German invaders  began on 23 September 1943. "It is here, in Komarin, that in September that we must give a good start to the anniversary events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, which we will celebrate in 2024 on a big scale," the head of state said.

"I repeat once again: ensuring peace and security is the job of the president, security and law enforcement agencies. Your task is to create decent living conditions for people. Your task is the economy," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
