MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ agricultural industry has very good prospects in view of increased demand for food worldwide, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited Glubokoye Milk Canning Plant on 18 March, BelTA has learned.
The head of state asked about the operations of the enterprise, its technologies and the degree of processing of raw materials, including whey that used to be thrown away in the past though this raw material is in demand and has good export prospects.
“It should not be like that, especially now. We must process all this,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
He noted that this matter is taking on new significance against the backdrop of sanctions and rising prices and increased demand for food in the world. “It is particularly relevant now, when the demand for food products is growing at a frantic pace throughout the world. This is a chance for our agriculture. The Russians are now happy to buy all goods from us,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The head of state also paid special attention to labor discipline. “If you work, you should produce a result,” he said.
