MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to soldiers, warrant officers, officers, veterans, and all Belarusians on the occasion of the Fatherland Defenders’ Day. The message of greetings was read out by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Slanislav Zas during the solemn meeting at the Palace of the Republic on 22 February, BelTA has learned.
“We always celebrate this holiday associated with courage and bravery with the special feeling of pride in our soldiers who have always ensured the defense capacity of the country and continue protecting the borders of our Homeland with dignity,” the message of greetings reads.
The head of state stressed that Belarus prioritizes the protection of national interests. “A reliable security system has been created in the country, the Armed Forces are strengthening, the quality of military training of soldiers is improving,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.
The President especially thanked the veterans of the Great Patriotic War. “Thanks to their selflessness and heroism, they are an example of true patriotism and loyalty to military duty for the current generation of soldiers and officers,” the Belarusian leader said.
Alexander Lukashenko wished everyone strong health, wellbeing and new achievements for the benefit of Belarus.
