MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – Accomplishments of hardworking Belarusians help look into the future with hope. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement during the state award ceremony on 28 December, BelTA has learned.
Addressing participants of the ceremony, Alexander Lukashenko said he would like the awards to become another milestone on their way to new accomplishments. “Raise new professionals and true patriots of their country. Create for the benefit of the fatherland. May luck and inspiration always attend you,” said the President. “Your accomplishments help us look into the future with hope. Your personal example proves that patience, labor, and dedication to one’s calling will prevail under any circumstances.” The head of state also told those present that he would like the new year to bring new victories in the implementation of their accomplished goals.
The President underlined he would be pleased to once again meet with those present during new state award ceremonies. Some of the awardees wished strong health among other things to the head of state. In response Alexander Lukashenko recalled his visit to Vietnam, during which he had to cross half the planet within 24 hours. “I have to say it was considerable workload,” noted the head of state. “I thank you for everything you have said to me. But remember one thing: if you are healthy and happy, we will live long. Nobody will interfere with our lives, no crises will.”
During the state award ceremony the head of state addressed military personnel. “We live in a complicated time. New conflicts spark across the globe all the time. Tensions in relations between countries and nations continue unabated. The fact that peace, law and public accord are secured in our soil has to do a lot with efforts of law enforcement and security agencies,” pointed out Alexander Lukashenko. On 28 December the military personnel, who had made a noticeable contribution to the national defense, the protection of the state borders, and the training of soldiers and officers were awarded. “The army guarantees the national security. It is also the pride of our nation. Thanks to efforts of military personnel from different arms of the army the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory became a truly remarkable event,” reminded Alexander Lukashenko. He said he would like the state awards to become the recognition of the military personnel’s serious contribution to a stronger Belarus.
During the state award ceremony pedagogues were represented by professors of the Belarusian National Technical University, the Brest State Trade and Technology College, the Interior Ministry Academy, and the Military Academy of Belarus. People of culture and sport were also among the awardees.
