MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) - A permanent hybrid war is being waged against the peoples of the CIS countries, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the participants of the CIS Internal Affairs Ministers Council on 8 August, BelTA has learned.
“We see very well today’s attempts to split and divide our countries. We are under the pressure of absolutely illegal unilateral economic sanctions. A permanent hybrid war is being waged against our peoples. Each of the CIS countries has already experienced at least one color revolution, which in fact meant an attempted coup d'état,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to the president, Belarus was no exception as it witnessed unrest in 2020 and an attempt “to destroy the country”. “They hoped on a blitzkrieg, like the Nazis. They used well-known playbooks. We did not allow the country to collapse into a civil war. We took a number of radical steps to change the situation in Belarus,” the head of state said.
Thus, one of the tasks facing law enforcement agencies is to ensure stability within the states.
