Legky: Belarusian international media forum will be practice-oriented

MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) — The Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future will be practice-oriented, Belarus’ First Deputy Information Minister Pavel Legky told the media, BelTA has learned.

"Today we view this forum as a practice-oriented platform that generates new experience. The forum should have practical value and significance for journalism in Belarus. We hope that this year the forum will focus on new knowledge, competence, skills and experience to make sure our journalism keeps pace with the latest trends," Pavel Legky said.

The main topic of the forum will be digitalization of the media space. The matter is not just about new technologies but new formats in journalism, new techniques and approaches. The forum will include four panels. Journalists, representatives of internet publications and television will discuss professional issues.

Traditionally, the forum will be co-located with the summer school of journalism.

The 13th Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future: Digital Agenda for the Media Space will be held in Minsk and Minsk District on 11-14 September. The media forum will be attended by media leaders, prominent political scientists, experts from the CIS and non-CIS countries.

Since 2006 the Belarusian International Media Forum Partnership for the Future has become a landmark international project that gathers prominent representatives of the expert and media community of the CIS and non-CIS states to discuss topical issues on the current agenda, exchange views, develop new ideas and concepts.
