SOCHI, 11 October (BelTA) – The CIS states believe that Ukraine’s absence at the CIS meetings is temporary, Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev told the media after the CIS Heads of State Council summit in Sochi on 11 October, BelTA has learned.

“Everyone believes that Ukraine’s absence is a temporary phenomenon since Ukraine’s participation in the activity of the Commonwealth of Independent States meets the country’s interests in the first place,” said Sergei Lebedev.

He added that the other CIS member states are interested in it as well.
