MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Today, the political relations between Belarus and Hungary are stronger than ever, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Economy of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Laszlo Szabo told reporters after the seventh meeting of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation on 29 September, BelTA has learned.
"I would like to emphasize that today our ties are stronger than ever. Our relations have never been so positive. We are open towards each other and show mutual interest,” Laszlo Szabo said.
He noted that the economic cooperation between Hungary and Belarus is growing stronger despite the current geopolitical situation and the global economic turbulence. The diplomat added that the countries have great prospects for expanding their cooperation.
Laszlo Szabo noted that Belarus’ geographical position can help Hungarian goods to get to the market of the Eurasian Economic Union. Belarus, in turn, can use Hungary to enter the market of the European Union. “By setting up joint ventures and joining our efforts, we can create a synergy that will enable our products to occupy a considerable market niche,” Laszlo Szabo believes.
For her part, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna pointed out that Belarus and Hungary are connected by strong ties of friendship, solidarity and partnership. “We have no problematic issues on the political agenda. This is very important,” she stressed.
