MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) - The Minsk venue for talks clears the road to peace in Ukraine, former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma said in an interview to the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

Some skeptics say that the Minsk venue has exhausted itself. In response Leonid Kuchma noted: “In this situation, there are many who want to criticize. But what do they offer in return? Nothing. There is no alternative to the political settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. It is understood all over the world, including in Ukraine and Belarus which has been actively involved in these processes.”

"With difficulties, stumbling, falling and rising again, but the contact group is moving forward," said Leonid Kuchna.
