Kochanova: Our Children campaign brings much joy to children

MINSK, 22 December (BelTA) – Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova has taken part in the Our Children charity campaign. On 22 December she visited Orphanage No. 3 in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Natalya Kochanova had a cordial conversation with the children who shared their most cherished wishes with her. After a New Year performance, she gave children goody bags and wished them to grow healthy, beautiful and smart. She told reporters that such amazing children should celebrate this great holiday with families. However, mothers and fathers of most of 65 children living in this orphanage were deprived of parental rights. “I really appreciate the staff of this orphanage because they give the children their love and affection. All of them are our children, therefore our charity campaign is called this way,” she emphasized.

Natalya Kochanova handed over a certificate to purchase kitchen equipment and learning aids to the director of the orphanage. This gift is very useful, because foodstuffs for some of the children should be cooked in a special way.

The charity campaign kicked off in Belarus on 10 December and will wrap up on 11 January. This campaign has already become a good tradition. Natalya Kochanova admitted that she is overwhelmed with emotions every time she takes part in this New Year charity event.

The goal of this campaign is to bring joy to every child. New Year matinees and performances take place all over Belarus. Heads of government agencies and company chiefs, leaders of public associations visit children’s facilities and give them presents, like computers, toys, sports equipment and sweets. Orphans, children from big families and foster families, and children with special needs are in the focus of this campaign.
