MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – Kazakhstan is ready to act together with Belarus in strengthening international security, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Yergali Bulegenov said at the international conference to mark 25 years of Kazakhstan’s independence on 7 December.
According to the diplomat, the election of Kazakhstan as a non-permanent member to the UN Security Council for 2017-2018 became a landmark event for the country in 2016. “I must note that the agenda of Kazakhstan’s membership in the Security Council fully meets Belarus’ vision. Our positions almost coincide on a wide range of matters. Our countries could coordinate their steps, thus contributing to the activity of the organization, including the area of international security,” Yergali Bulegenov said.
The Ambassador also stressed that Kazakhstan’s initiatives and proposals within international organizations have always received firm support from Belarus. “Kazakhstan expresses sincere gratitude to the Belarusian authorities for the support,” he emphasized.
