MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – The Embassy of Israel will continue working in Minsk as usual, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The official said: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus can confirm that in accordance with the universally accepted diplomatic practices the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially notified the Belarusian side that the Embassy of the State of Israel in Minsk will stay open and will continue operating as usual.”
In his words, this step made by the Israeli side is a reason to return to the matter of Belarus’ diplomatic presence in Israel. Moreover, the official note sent by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlines “the important significance the State of Israel attaches to the presence of the Israeli diplomatic mission in Minsk bearing in mind the strong relations between Israel and Belarus”.
“We share this evaluation of the nature of our relations and expect them to advance progressively with active participation of the embassies of the two countries,” said the spokesman of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
