MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Integration is not a goal in itself but an instrument to achieve the main goal – improve people’s living standards, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said at the opening of the autumn session of the parliament, BelTA has learned.
For Belarus, fruitful integration with everyone willing to cooperate, above all, close neighbors, has always been a natural way of development for Belarus, Vladimir Andreichenko stressed. “At the same time we understand that integration is not a goal in itself but an instrument to achieve the main goal – improve living standards of the peoples of our countries. These principles lay the basis for our cooperation with parliaments of other countries within such organizations as the CIS, the CSTO, and the Union State of Belarus and Russia,” he added.
“It is in the interests of all of us to fully exploit our potential for integration. This is why we focus on harmonizing legislations, ensuring equal rights of citizens and economic entities, and streamlining trade and economic relations,” Vladimir Andreichenko said
He reminded that it is the priorities of sustainable development that shape Belarus’ domestic and foreign policies. “We are deeply convinced that the best means to ensure a more stable, safe and fair world is not competing with each other but searching for areas of common interest between various economic models which exist in the world,”Vladimir Andreichenko noted.
