BEIJING, 22 December (BelTA-Xinhua) – Thanks to the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative Belarus and China are becoming a community of the countries with shared destiny, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua.
Dmitry Mironchik has made a visit to China to take part in the first ministerial consultations on information affairs.
“We have acknowledged that the consultations between relevant departments of the foreign ministries are important. A decision has been taken to make this format of cooperation permanent and meetings regular,” he remarked.
Dmitry Mironchik also visited the offices of China’s leading mass media, including Xinhua News Agency. “I met with representatives of China’s leading mass media that provide extensive coverage of the Belarus-China cooperation. We are interested in their information and opinions and we keep them in mind,” the spokesman underlined.
In his words, the news that Belarus launched a five-day visa-free program for 80 countries via the Minsk National Airport has sparked the interest in the country. “Now politics and economy are not the only things in the spotlight of the media. Stories are also published about the Belarusian cuisine, traditions, and history,” Dmitry Mironchik added.
He stressed that Belarus is eager to provide Chinese tourists with all kinds of opportunities to learn more about the country.
