MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Indonesia deems Belarus its key partner among countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi made the statement as she met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus Vladimir Lopato-Zagorsky on 20 July, BelTA has learned.
Representatives of the Belarusian diplomatic mission quoted the Indonesian minister of foreign affairs as saying that Belarus is a key partner of Indonesia among countries of the Eurasian Economic Union in a number of areas, including trade and economy. The Indonesian side is interested in signing an agreement on free trade with the Eurasian Economic Union.
The meeting touched upon the organization of top-level and high-level visits, the expansion of cooperation in military and technical affairs and in the format of international organizations.
Retno Marsudi thanked Vladimir Lopato-Zagorsky, whose diplomatic mission in the country is nearing its end, for fruitful efforts to advance Belarusian-Indonesian relations.
