VITEBSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The program of the 31st International Festival of Modern Choreography (IFMC) in Vitebsk will be interesting and packed with events, Culture Minister Yuri Bondar told reporters before the opening of the forum on 21 November, BelTA has learned.
“This year the festival has gathered participants from 22 countries. Its program features over 60 performances and other events,” the minister said.
Yuri Bondar noted that Belarusian authorities support over 60 international festivals, however the IFMC has a special place here. “This is a very prestigious forum setting trends in modern choreography not only in our country, but in the entire world,” the culture minister emphasized.
The IFMC 2019 is taking place in Vitebsk on 21-25 November. As part of the forum, Spellbound Contemporary Ballet from Italy presented Rossini Ouvertures on stage of the Bolshoi Theater in Minsk. On 22 November this performance will be staged in Gomel. It will then travel to Vitebsk where it will conclude the busy program of this year’s festival.
