MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – Huawei will implement important telecom projects in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone together with leading Chinese telecom operators, Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Sergei Popkov said on 6 May during the ceremony to award students that have won internships in China under the Seeds for the Future program, BelTA has learned.
Sergei Popkov pointed out that the Chinese company Huawei has been operating in the Belarusian market for a long time and is successfully carrying out a fair amount of projects. The international program Seeds for the Future is among them, providing studying opportunities in China for Belarusian students. Sergei Popkov remarked that this study program meets Belarus’ requirements and is important for youth in terms of exchanging experience and polishing up knowledge.
The minister believes that Belarus-Huawei cooperation will keep expanding and getting filled with new activities as well as telecom projects in the Great Stone industrial park.
In turn, First Deputy Education Minister Vadim Bogush stressed that Belarus and China maintain close and friendly relations in education, too. According to him, youth is the basis for the development of future bilateral cooperation. “Our future collaboration in all fields, including information and communication, depends on the youth,” he noted.
Vadim Bogush also remarked that cooperation between Belarus’ Education Ministry and Huawei serves as a good example of strong partnership. Such measures form general dynamics of Belarus-China relations.
Chairman of the Belarus-China Friendship Society Anatoly Tozik drew attention to the fact that Huawei makes a great contribution to bolstering Belarus-China ties. The Seeds for the Future program is an important component of bilateral cooperation.
