MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – Hosting a session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will help Belarus strengthen its positive image, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the fifth convocation Viktor Guminky told reporters, BelTA has learned.
“We will do everything possible to strengthen the positive image of our country as we will host many politicians from Western Europe, the United States, and Canada for a week,” the MP said.
He noted that many representatives of other countries are interested in Belarus and voice their desire to come to Belarus to learn more about it. “I hope they will see that we want peace, cooperation, that we want to evolve and keep pace with time. But we do not want to be pressured or have any terms dictated to us,” Viktor Guminsky said.
“I tell my foreign colleagues that we will move as fast as we can. But we will be moving carefully to make sure there is stability and peace in our country,” Viktor Guminsky said.
As was reported, more than 700 politicians from 57 countries will gather for the 26th session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to be held in Minsk in 2017.
