MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Syria hopes that Belarus will take part in the country’s economic recocvery, Syrian Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam told BelTA following his meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.
The Syrian minister spoke highly of his trip to Minsk and the agreements reached during the visit. “I conveyed a personal message from Bashar al-Assad to Alexander Lukashenko expressing sincere gratitude for Belarus’ position on Syria and the people of Syria,” Mansour Azzam noted.
“The Belarus president once again reaffirmed that he supports the Syrian people in their righteous fight against terrorism. Alexander Lukashenko said Belarus will take measures to rebuild destroyed infrastructure in Syria,” the minister added.
In his words, the meeting with the head of state greenlighted further cooperation and specific steps to be made by the two governments.
