MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – The Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone should become the centerpiece of the interregional cooperation of Belarus and China, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with China Vice Minister of Commerce and International Trade Representative Zhong Shan in Minsk on 5 November, BelTA has learned.
The parties discussed the ways to bolster the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Great attention was paid to the implementation of the One Belt, One Road concept and Belarus’ participation in it. This concept unites the projects to create the economic zone of the Silk Road and Maritime Silk Road of the 21st century.
The meeting highlighted the issues related to the construction of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park. It was noted that the park should become the centerpiece of the Belarusian-Chinese interregional ties. A roadmap of interregional cooperation has already been approved. Belarus and China attach great importance to the document.
The parties discussed the ways to streamline trade and economic relations and remove barriers with a view to accelerating the development of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation.
The parties also talked over the implementation of big joint projects and the cooperation in the financial and credit sector. The parties were unanimous in supporting all-round expansion of the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation.
