MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in information technologies has a good potential, BelTA learned from Kazakhstani Information and Communication Minister Dauren Abayev.
The fact that Belarus and Kazakhstan are part of the Eurasian Economic Union adds to this good cooperation potential. The EAEU membership automatically removes many possible barriers. Kazakhstan is now setting up an IT park and is interested in Belarus’ experience, which has secured good results in this field, noted the official. “We would like to explore this avenue,” said Dauren Abayev.
On 28 November Dauren Abayev met with Director of Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park Vsevolod Yanchevsky. The sides signed an agreement on Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in new and high technologies. “We will consider joint actions first. Instructions on two or three serious projects have already been given,” added the Kazakhstani information and communication minister.
After negotiations with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev on 29 November Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko mentioned that a new stage in Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation had begun with a focus on innovations and high technologies.
